Illinois Derby post positions
A field of 10 has been entered in Saturday's Grade 2, $500,000 Illinois Derby. The two favorites converge on Hawthorne Race Course from opposite coasts, with Cause to Believe, Northern California's top 3-year-old, shipping in from Golden Gate Fields, and Sweetnorthernsaint, most recently a close third in the Gotham Stakes, coming from Laurel Park. High-profile trainers Bobby Frankel, who will start Racketeer, and Todd Pletcher, who will start My Golden Song, also have horses for the 1 1/8-mile race.
