Illinois-bred wins final race at Arlington
Appropriately, a deeply rooted Illinois-bred captured what is expected to be the final race in the storied history of Arlington Park on Saturday evening. Sister Ruler, who is stakes-placed at Arlington, captured an allowance turf sprint for fillies and mares to close out the program.

Sister Ruler, bred by Larry Owens and racing for Hoffman Farms Racing, is by Road Ruler, a perennial leading sire in Illinois for the last decade. The stallion stands at JB Stables in Burnt Prairie.
Sister Ruler is one of five winners out of the Illinois-bred mare Canyons Sister, bred and raced by Owens and a winner at Arlington. Canyons Sister, in turn, is out of Royal Livy, also bred in the name of the Owens family before racing for trainer Jimmy Wiser. Royal Livy also produced Royal Posh, a stakes winner at both Arlington and Hawthorne, and Hawthorne stakes-placed Dr Winn Kyi.
