Ibboyee remained undefeated in three starts by coasting to an easy 6 3/4-length victory in the 47th running of the on Saturday at Finger Lakes. The Todd Pletcher-trained Ibboyee ($3) finished the six furlong sprint for New York-bred 2-year-olds in 1:12.23 and earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 85. The margin of victory was similar to Ibboyee's 6 1/4-romp locally in the $150,900 Aspirant Stakes on Labor Day. Jockey Cornelio Velasquez, who has been aboard for all three of the Medallist colt's victories, said he believes Ibboyee will improve when he stretches out. "He'll be even better with more distance", said Velasquez. "Three-quarters is too short for him." Dahlgren Chapel finished second behind Ibboyee for the second consecutive time. Hook Me Up, one of the two fillies in the race, was third. The $314,263 purse for the Futurity was the second largest of any race ever run at Finger Lakes. The 2008 running of the stakes had a record purse of $318,525. * Natalicat ($11.80) defeated Afleet Alexandra by a neck in the $50,000 Proud Puppy Handicap, a six-furlong sprint for fillies and mares.
