I Want Revenge gets in his final work

LOUISVILLE, Ky. I Want Revenge, the likely favorite for the Kentucky Derby, worked a half-mile in 47.34 seconds at Churchill Downs on Tuesday morning with jockey Joe Talamo in his final tune-up for Saturday's race.

"I feel we accomplished what we wanted to," said Talamo. "The last two times he worked the track was deep and soggy."

The track was fast for Tuesday's work, but I Want Revenge just did beat the rain. It began pouring just as he left the track, about 8:45 a.m.

With Square Eddie withdrawn from the Derby earlier in the day, Take the Points got into the Derby field. Now number 21 on the graded-stakes earnings list is Atomic Rain, who trainer Kelly Breen said was likely to be sent by van from Monmouth Park on Tuesday.

"I'd love to run him," Breen said.
