I Still Miss You narrowly prevails in Arctic Queen Stakes

I Still Miss You scored the third stakes victory of her career, and her third straight victory at Finger Lakes, as she prevailed by a head in Monday's $50,000 Arctic Queen Stakes for New York-bred fillies and mares.
I Still Miss You, a 3-year-old Majestic Warrior filly who is trained by Jeremiah Englehart for the partnership of Gold Star Racing Stable, Matthew Hand, and Brian McKenzie, won the 2017 Astoria Stakes, an open-company event for juvenile fillies, by 2 1/4 lengths in her second career start. She went on to finish second in the statebred-restricted Lynbrook Stakes to Pure Silver, who went on to become a Grade 2 winner. Later in the year, she won the Key Cents Stakes, also for New York-breds, at Aqueduct.
But I Still Miss You was winless in her first three starts of 2018 until winning an allowance race in July at Finger Lakes, followed by another allowance victory in August at the Farmington, N.Y. track.
I Still Miss You ($7) stalked the pace from post 2 under Jaime Rodriguez and was second through a half-mile in 45.72 seconds, a measured length behind Royal Inheritance, who had been away sharply from the rail. The filly reeled in the fading leader to take command inside the final furlong, then held off a late charge from Timely Tradition, who had just one horse beaten at the quarter pole, to win by a head. She stopped the clock in 1:12.16 for six furlongs on the track rated good.
A length behind the top two, Royal Inheritance held third, 1 1/4 lengths clear of favored Frosty Margarita, who raced evenly throughout.
