Hystericalady repeats in Molly Pitcher
Hystericalady successfully defended her title in Sunday's Grade 2 Molly Pitcher Stakes at Monmouth Park, drawing off to an eight-length victory under Robby Albarado. She won last years Molly Pitcher by 6 1/4 lengths.
She always does more than we expect of her, said winning trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. She broke so sharp. She was able to sit second and get a great trip."
Hystericalady broke quickly in the 1 1/16-mile Molly Pitcher, then settled in second as Rolling Sea set fractions of 24.22 seconds, 48.43, and 1:12.30 for six furlongs. Hystericalady took over near the quarter pole and extended her lead through the lane to finish in 1:43.31 on a fast track.
I just tried to keep her out of trouble," Albarado said. "I was just a passenger today. I cant take credit for this one.
Hystericalady returned $2.20 as the heavy 1-9 favorite. Rolling Sea, ridden by Joe Bravo, held second by 1 1/4 lengths over Lexi Star.
