Hustle Up edges clear in Mountain Top Futurity

Hustle Up improved his career record to 4 for 4 on Saturday when he darted to a 1 1/4-length victory over Sunscreen in the $122,688 Mountain Top Futurity at Ruidoso Downs. It was another 1 1/4 lengths back to Hanky Panky Kim in third.
The Mountain Top was a five-furlong race for 2-year-olds bred in New Mexico.
Hustle Up ($3) was always prominent through fractions of 21.32 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.27 for the half-mile. He went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 58.61.
Tracy Hebert was aboard the winner for trainer Todd Fincher.
Hustle Up began his streak when he won his debut in a trial race for the Copper Top Futurity back in March at Sunland Park. He then captured the $162,000 finale April 15 before taking his trial for the Mountain Top on June 8 at Ruidoso. For his win in the finale on Saturday, Hustle Up earned $61,344.
Hustle Up is a son of the Pulpit stallion Abstraction. He races for the partnership of Dale F. Taylor Racing, Bobby McQueen, and Suzanne Kirby.
