Hurricane Bertie highlights weekend racing

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – There is only one stakes race is on tap at Gulfstream this weekend, the Grade 3 Hurricane Bertie for older fillies and mares at seven furlongs on Saturday.

The race drew 18 nominations, topped by Wildwood’s Beauty and Nonna Madeline, the second- and third-place finishers behind Pink Sands in the Grade 3 Inside Information earlier this winter. Other top names on the list include the multiple Grade 3 winner Blamed, who finished 12th in the Inside Information before bouncing back with an impressive allowance win two weeks later, Grade 3 winner Sally’s Curlin, and multiple stakes winner Pauseforthecause.
