ETOBICOKE, Ontario - First-time starter Olredlgetcha ($23.50) manhandled his six rivals Sunday at Woodbine in the $152,150 Victoria, the first 2-year-old stakes of the Woodbine meet. It was the second triumph in the five-furlong Victoria for trainer Greg de Gannes, who won last year's renewal with Southern Exchange. "He's just an ultimate professional," said de Gannes. "He's very athletic. I thought he was a high enough quality horse that we decided to take a shot." Olredlgetcha broke a bit slowly under Emile Ramsammy, before moving into a stalking position on the turn, as Dant and Fearless Cowboy dueled through a quarter in 22.67 seconds. Olredlgetcha took dead aim at the leaders early in the stretch, and then hit the front at the sixteenth pole before drawing off for a three-length score, in a time of 57.56. Fearless Cowboy finished a clear second over Dant. Bricklayer, the favored New York invader, wound up fifth, and Midst was scratched. Olredlgetcha, a Florida-bred colt by Limehouse, banked $90,000 for R Own Stable. * Saskawea ($6.80) captured Sunday's supporting feature, the $100,800 Zadracarta Stakes, a six-furlong turf dash for Ontario-bred fillies and mares.
