RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
Hotshot Anna made a successful return to Presque Isle Downs on Monday night, cruising to a 1 1/4-length repeat victory in the $100,000 Satin and Lace Stakes for female sprinters. The race is a prep for the Grade 2, $400,000 Presque Isle Masters, the track’s signature race, on Sept. 16.
Sent away favored, Hotshot Anna ($3.20) was second, a length behind leader Shanghai Tariff, through a sharp half mile in 45.21 seconds. When given her cue by jockey Antonio Gallardo, she inhaled the leader, opened up in the lane, and was never seriously threatened to the wire. She finished the six furlongs on the synthetic track in 1:09.14.
Spring in the Wind closed from last in the field of seven to finish second, 4 1/2 lengths clear of the fading Shanghai Tariff.

Hotshot Anna was away from the races for nine months after winning the Masters, returning to finish second in the Chicago Handicap in June. She then won an optional-claiming race at Arlington Park before returning to Pennsylvania.
