Horseshoe Indianapolis to show DRF Formulator Projected Odds on simulcast

Horseshoe Indianapolis in Shelbyville, Indiana, will begin to show projected win odds for each horse in a race beginning with the second race at the track on Thursday. The enhancement will be provided by DRF Formulator Projected Odds, a technology developed by Daily Racing Form and available on its digital past performance products.

Formulator Projected Odds provide a real-time estimate for the win price of a horse at the time that betting closes. The enhancement will be provided on Horseshoe Indianapolis’s simulcast feed twice before each race, while the horses are in the paddock and then again several minutes prior to post time.

“By offering a look at the projected final odds of each horse, our bettors will have a more accurate gauge for each race,” said Eric Halstrom, vice president and general manager of racing at the track. “We are always listening to our customers, and that is one thing that was expressed frequently. The odds change often, especially when the horses are entering the starting gate and closing in on post time. . . . This should provide players with detailed information while they are making their final decision on each race.”

The Formulator Projected Odds will be available for all races after the first race each day. Projected odds for the first race will be provided by will-pay data.
