Horseshoe Indianapolis cancelled its Wednesday racing program after several inches of rain fell in the area overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning, according to the track. Horseshoe Indianapolis said in an announcement on social media that the cancellation came out of concern for the safety of horses and jockeys. Wednesday’s program was the first of the 2024 season to include stakes races. Two Indiana-sired stakes have been moved to May 22, but the track has not yet decided what to do with the two other Wednesday stakes, the $150,000 Caesars Handicap for 3-year-olds and the $150,000 Horseshoe Indianapolis for 3-year-old fillies. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
