Fasig-Tipton dubs its annual Kentucky fall selected mixed sale the “Night of the Stars,” and this year’s catalog proves why. Three Eclipse Award champions are among the offerings, and several others are set to make their case for this year’s championships at the Breeders’ Cup just one day prior to the sale. “The Fasig-Tipton November sale has become an important event in the industry, showcasing the best of our sport in an electric atmosphere,” Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning Jr. said. “We are pleased to have once again assembled a very special catalog to present to buyers.” The single-session Fasig-Tipton November sale will begin at 2 p.m. Eastern at the company’s Newtown Paddocks headquarters in Lexington. There are 279 hips in the catalog, with Fasig-Tipton continuing to review and accept supplemental entries. The catalog is structured with selected weanlings sold first in the evening, followed by the star-studded collection of racing and broodmare prospects. The latter group is highlighted by Kentucky Oaks and Breeders’ Cup Distaff winner Monomoy Girl, the Eclipse Award champion 3-year-old filly of 2018; multiple Grade 1 winner Midnight Bisou, last year’s Eclipse champion older female; and reigning Eclipse champion female turf horse Uni, winner of the 2019 Breeders’ Cup Mile. All three will be consigned by Elite Sales just one day after Monomoy Girl and Uni attempt to secure additional honors at this year’s Breeders’ Cup. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to offer three champions in the prime of their careers,” Elite’s Bradley Weisbord said in press a release. “They aren’t one-hit wonders; they have been leaders in their divisions since they hit the racetrack. With these unprecedented times, we look forward to speaking with all interested parties as these mares will appeal to anyone around the world looking to target the highest end of the Thoroughbred industry.” Following are some key horses to watch at the Fasig-Tipton November sale, accounting for catalog updates, additions, and outs through Nov. 1.
