NOONTIME NUGGETS is by a poor win-early sire, but her second dam is Grade 2 winner (and debut winner) Lea Lucinda, and trainer Tony Dutrow does very well with first-time starters (already has a first-Lasix, first-out 3yo filly debut winner at Philly this year). The Quiet American - Private Account 'nick' has produced three winners from four starters.
CROWN THE PRINCESS is by an underrated sire that connects with 15% of his first-time starters. The sprint-winning dam is a daughter of multiple stakes-winner The Private One (99-22-26-14, $306,553). According to Formulator 4.1 statistics, trainer Floyd Snyder is 4-19 (21%, $7.40 ROI) over the last five seasons with debut runners. A repeat of the 61 Beyer that LADY RIDGE earned three starts back would likely be good enough to win this heat, but her speed figures are in decline, and she may be forced wide throughout from far outside post.
BLITZENSFOXYVIXSIN had the misfortune to run into next-out Blue Hen Stakes winner Miss Goodnight two back at Delaware, and her last race was a key event over this oval. She has every right to be sharper for her second start back, and one must always respect the Lake barn. SING ON showed some late kick in her debut, but fell while galloping out. It's good to see her back on short notice, and she should be running hard in the lane. PHILLY STYLE has the important second-time starter, first-time Lasix angle working for her. CONTROL SYSTEM debuts for powerhouse first-out barn (12-56, $2.21 ROI over the past three seasons), but the inside post may cause some problems.
