Purse $26,000. TURKISH VICTORY made a four wide bid turning for home last time out, and still finished ahead of three of the runners he'll face on Thursday afternoon. He draws a cozy inside post position, and has the tactical speed to sit a nice pace-tracking, ground-saving trip. His two best races have come at this class level, and he looms a logical danger in this spot.
DYNASKI took the worst of it at the post position draw, and has already had several chances to break his maiden to no avail. Still, he has earned some solid numbers, and should be charging late at a price. MIGHTY THOR switches to a hot journeyman rider for the important third start of the form cycle, and should be among the early leaders. He's disappointed thus far in his career, but figures prominently when they turn for home.
FERDI'S PRINCE shows a sharp half-mile workout over grass, and is another that should be forwardly-placed in the early stages. AMERICAN CRUISER obviously disliked the slop in his main track debut last time out, but he ran well on grass two starts back. It will be interesting to see if the son of the fleet Trippi can successfully stretch out to this route distance. HOT TABLE made a midrace move when the beaten favorite at Belmont. He figures to ride the hedge around these tight turns, and trainer Bill Mott excels with turf performers. Selections:
