Hoosier: Rockinbeach best in Trimble final, fillies battle in Indiana Sires Stakes elims

The Tubby Trimble Series concluded and a trio of Indiana Sires Stakes eliminations for 3-year-old filly pacers were held on Friday at Hoosier Park.
The Trimble, for non-winners of four (five for 3-year-olds) extended pari-mutuel races or $45,000 lifetime as of May 15, saw a field of six line up for the $20,000 final, and it would be Rockinbeach (Ricky Macomber Jr.) leading a one-two finish for trainer Jamie Macomber as the sophomore son of Rockin Image flew home in 25 4/5 to rally from off-the-pace and defeat stable-mate and pocket-sitter Just N Ace (Peter Wrenn) by a length and a quarter in a 1:51 1/5 mile. Elusive Image (Dale Hiteman) was third.
This was the fifth career win for Rockinbeach, a gelded son of Rockin Image owned by breeder Wilbur Eash. Rockinbeach was the even-money favorite and returned $4.00 to win.
Over in the Indiana Sires Stakes, it would be Neverforgetwhour, Dee Rocks, and Virgin Eyes coming away with wins in their respective $20,000 eliminations.
Neverforgetwhour (Elliott Deaton) led the way through panels of 26 1/5, 55 4/5, and 1:24 3/5 in the first elim, then used a 27 3/5 final kicker over the sloppy going to down a rallying Letme Fly Low (Trace Tetrick) by three lengths, stopping the clock in 1:52 1/5. Lady Day (Mike Oosting) finished third.
The victorious daughter of Always A Virgin is owned and trained by Anette Lorentzon, who is also the winning breeder. This was the filly's fifth career victory, and she paid $6.40 to win.
Dee Rocks (Tetrick), the winner of the first Indiana Sires Stakes final for the division this year, looks ready to defend that title after a 1:53 4/5 win in the next elimination. She was forwardly-placed in third, came to the outside late on the final turn, and blasted home in 26 2/5 to beat pace-setter It's Time For Fun (Todd Warren) by 2 1/2 lengths. Mildrix (Wrenn) checked in third.
A filly by Rockin Image, Dee Rocks is trained by Dossie Minor for owners/breeders Ronald Phillips and John Carver. She now has a record of 13-1-1 from 17 trips behind the gate, has pocketed $246,650, and returned $3.80 to win as the 4-5 choice.
Virgin Eyes (Oosting) sat a loose pocket trip behind Always Curious (John De Long) in the final elimination, took the lead in the lane, and held off a rushing Chicago Sky (Tetrick) to prevail by a neck in 1:53 2/5. Always Woggy (Wrenn) charged from seventh to third in the final quarter.
Ronnie Roberts trains Virgin Eyes, an Always A virgin filly, for owner Cavallo Stable. She is now a five-time winner and pushed her earnings to $57,196. She was sent off at 4-1 and paid $10.20 to win.
