Hoosier Park: Track's new owners officially take charge

Although the 17th Indiana Derby was the obvious focus Saturday at Hoosier Park in Anderson, Ind., another notable development was occurring behind the scenes: the track officially emerged from bankruptcy when its new owner, Clairvest of Canada, assumed ownership.

Centaur was in Chapter 11 bankruptcy since March 2010, owing largely to the hefty alternative-gaming fees the company had to pay the state of Indiana starting in 2007. The company has since sold off assets to emerge from Chapter 11.
