Hoosier Park track report

Leading rider Ramsey Zimmerman is scheduled to begin accepting mounts starting with Friday's card at Hoosier Park after being away from the track since a spill on Oct. 24. Zimmerman was named on four mounts on Friday's overnight.

Zimmerman was injured when finishing third aboard Formal Diplomacy for his main client, leading trainer Ralph Martinez. Formal Diplomacy was caught in tight quarters just after crossing the wire and appeared to clip the heels of two rivals.

Zimmerman's lead in the rider standings is still commanding but has dwindled to 87-68 over Rodney Prescott. Zimmerman plans to ride at Turfway Park when that meeting opens on Nov. 28.

Martinez still has all but mathematically wrapped up his second straight training title here with a dominant 52 wins. Kim Hammond and Barbara McBride are in a struggle for second, with Hammond holding a 22-20 edge entering the final two weeks of this 60-day meeting.

* The handle on Hoosier's signal around the country reached season-high levels twice last weekend. Friday's offtrack signal generated $1,862,257. Saturday's offtrack handle again neared the $2 million mark with $1,982,955 wagered. Saturday's ontrack handle of $100,163 was just the third time this season that local handle reached six figures on the live racing product.
