Hoosier Park: Indiana Sires Stakes eliminations aplenty on Friday night's program

Greg Reinhart|Sep 28, 2018

Two-year-old filly pacers, filly trotters, and colt and gelding pacers were in action in Indiana Sires Stakes competition on Friday night at Hoosier Park.

The pacing fillies kicked things off with their two $20,000 eliminations in the early daily double, and both races saw upsets as 7-1 shot Pansy's Image (by Rockin Image) won the first elimination in 1:53 2/5 for trainer Shane Bowermaster and owner/breeder Emerald Highlands Farm, and 20-1 offering Queen Lagertha (by Always A Virgin) bagged the second elimination in 1:51 3/5 for driver Todd Warren, co-owner/trainer Roger Welch, and co-owners David Heninger, Roger Heninger, and Robert Holbrook.

Freshmen pacing colts raced in one $20,000 elimination, comprised of ten horses, and a $24,000 elimination, which saw 11 competitors. The first elimination saw Egomania (by Always A Virgin) win from first-up in 1:52 4/5 for driver John De Long, trainer Shane Bowermaster, and owners Country Club Acres Inc., Joe Sbrocco, Richard Lombardo, and John Fodera, and the second elimination went to Outloud (by Tellitlikeitis) from second-over in 1:52 4/5 for driver Peter Wrenn, trainer Melanie Wrenn, and owners Mr. Dana Parham and Howard Taylor.

Rookie trotting fillies rounded out the festivities, with public choices Kissesforall and Grand Swan getting the job done. Kissesforall (by Swan For All) cleared to command past three-quarters and romped home to a seven-length win in 1:56 1/5 for co-owner/trainer/driver Verlin Yoder and co-owner Eleven Star Stables, and Grand Swan (also by Swan For All) popped pocket to take the lead past the opening quarter and went on to win in 1:56 1/5 for trainer/driver Lewayne Miller and owners Grand Swan Racing, Go Fast Stable, and Never 2 Late Stable.
