Ain't She a Saint came from near the back of the pack early to rally and win the $200,000 Frances Slocum at Hoosier Park on Saturday, closing night of the 2012 meet.

Trained by Jeff Greenhill, Ain't She a Saint ($9) was seventh in the field of 12 going into the far turn while saving ground. Jockey Malcolm Franklin moved the 3-year-old Indiana-bred Ain’t She a Saint to the outside and asked for her best on the turn and she responded, drawing off to win by seven lengths against older statebred fillies and mares.

The pacesetting Yeardley settled for second, 1 1/4 lengths ahead of post time favorite Dreamin Big in third. The running time for 1 1/16 miles over a fast track was 1.41.83.

Twice Mike was kept just off a fast pace by jockey Chris Russell early in the 1 1/16-mile, $200,000 To Much Coffee and then rallied late to win by three lengths for trainer Richard Kohnhorst.

The 3-year-old Indiana-bred Twice Mike saved ground to upper stretch, then he was swung out to rally and defeat 10 older Indiana-breds. Twice Mike ($3.80) was sent off as part of an odds-on entry with Northern Candyride, the 2011 winner of this event.
Prince of Time was second, a half-length in front of Unreachable Star in third. The running time was 1.42.96.

The 2-year-old Higher Logic ($6.20) defeated a field of 11 Indian-bred fillies by 3 1/2 lengths under jockey Irwin Rosendo in the $84,000 Miss Indiana.

Trained by Antonio Duran, Higher Logic is 3 for 3 lifetime after winning at two turns for the first time. Harbor Cat was second and Blade's Edge was third. The running time for the mile was 1.37.86.

Dread the Pirate was kept just off the fast early pace in the $89,000 Indiana Futurity and then drew off to win by three lengths under Marlon St Julien for trainer David Paulus.

Dread the Pirate ($8.80) was angled out in the stretch of the one-mile event and wore down rivals late. Seal Beach was second and Short Round was third. The running time was 1.38.26.
