Honor the Hero rescheduled for Saturday

The back end of the May 26 card at Canterbury Park had to be canceled after storms in the area produced too much lightning to safely race. Among the races lost was the $50,000 Honor the Hero, a turf sprint for 3-year-olds and up that has been rescheduled for this Saturday, June 2.
The last race Canterbury managed to get in Saturday was the $50,000 Northbound Pride, a one-mile grass race for 3-year-old fillies in which Sirenusa remained unbeaten after three stars. Sirenusa stretched out from a pair of turf sprints – a Fair Grounds maiden and a Keeneland allowance – and won the Northbound Pride by three lengths for jockey Adam Beschizza, trainer Joe Sharp, and owners Barry and Joni Butzow. Sirenusa, a daughter of Tiznow, got an 81 Beyer Speed Figure.
There are no upcoming suitable races for her at Canterbury, but the $100,000 Ta Wee Stakes, a one-mile turf stakes July 19 at Indiana Grand, could prove an appealing spot.
