Honor D Lady took control in the deep stretch to win the $75,000 Honey Ryder Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Gulfstream Park Saturday. She paid $10.00 for her 1 1/4-length victory over Ocean Club in the one-mile race contested over firm turf.  With Miguel Vasquez aboard, Honor D Lady stalked the early pace, moved into serious contention turning for home, and while being herded out in the stretch she drew clear in the final sixteenth. Ocean Club sat just off Time Passage, who held a half-length advantage after a half-mile in 47.35 seconds. Ocean Club got her head in front just before being overwhelmed by Honor D Lady. Violet Gibson rallied late to finish a neck behind Ocean Club.  The final time was 1:35.18.  A Kentucky-bred daughter of Honor Code, Honor D Lady was racing on turf for the first time for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.  She races for Final Furlong Farm and Madaket Stables.  :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
