Hong Kong: All In Mind has a lot going for him in Sunday feature at Sha Tin
All In Mind should have winning on his mind in the featured 11th race Sunday at Sha Tin.
A 3-year-old facing older rivals, All In Mind is favorably weighted, well drawn, and in good form for this Class 2 handicap over 1,200 meters (about six furlongs) on turf.
All In Mind made a pair of starts as an Australian 2-year-old in 2019, winning his debut and finishing second in a stakes race before being exported to Hong Kong. He’s made steady progress through this Hong Kong racing season, rising from an initial rating of 74 to 81 going into Sunday’s start, while winning a Class 3 handicap under 129 pounds on March 22. That victory was the first of three straight 1,400-meter races for All In Mind, but cut back to 1,200 meters on May 31, he raced effectively finishing second in a Sha Tin race at this class level. All In Mind breaks from post 3 and is weighted at 120 pounds, nine fewer than top-rated Gunnison.
Gunnison, rated 92, enters after a pair of strong 1,200-meter races at Sha Tin, but both came on dirt and his recent turf form falls far below that level. It’s a similar story with Massive Pocket, Highly Proactive, and Shining Gem, whose top races this season either came on Sha Tin dirt or over the turf course at Happy Valley, a different kettle of fish than Sha Tin.

Mr. Croissant exits a half-length course and distance win at the class level, but his six-point ratings boost has him up to 91 now, and Mr. Croissant must lug 128 pounds.
The Sunday nightcap’s post time is set for 5:45 a.m. Eastern on a card that starts at 12:30 a.m. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
