Hollywood Park: She’s a Tiger returning to track

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - She’s a Tiger, who finished first in the BC Juvenile Fillies but was disqualified to second for causing interference in the stretch, will return to racetrack training this week after a late autumn break, trainer Jeff Bonde said.
She’s a Tiger won the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante in August and was second in the Grade 1 Chandelier Stakes in late September. After the Breeders’ Cup, She’s a Tiger was sent to the Pegasus Training Center in Washington for a rest, Bonde said. The goal for the first half of 2014 is the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs on May 2, preceded by stakes at Santa Anita.
There are three two-turn stakes for 3-year-old fillies on dirt at Santa Anita’s winter-spring meeting – the $300,000 Las Virgenes Stakes over a mile on Feb. 1, the $100,000 Santa Ysabel Stakes over 1 1/16 miles on March 1, and the $400,000 Santa Anita Oaks over 1 1/16 miles on April 5.
◗ There are only three days of racing remaining in the history of Hollywood Park, which closes permanently after Sunday’s program. There is no racing Thursday. Racing resumes on Friday with an eight-race program highlighted by a pick six carryover of $79,599.
◗ Flashback, second in the Santa Anita Derby last April, worked six furlongs in 1:11.40 on Monday at Santa Anita for an expected start in the $300,000 Malibu Stakes for 3-year-olds over seven furlongs on Dec. 26, the opening day of the winter-spring meeting. Flashback was second to Malibu Stakes hopeful Zeewat in the Damascus Stakes at Santa Anita on Nov. 2.
