Marcel Langevin/Vasser Photography Dice Flavor, making his first start on the main track after four races on turf, upsets the Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby under jockey Jose Valdivia.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Thursday’s $150,000 Swaps Stakes for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles will have a small field. As of Friday, the probable starters included Chief Havoc, Dice Flavor, Java’s War, Tiz a Minister, and Power Broker.

Dice Flavor won the Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields on Feb. 16 but was fourth behind winner Tiz a Minister in the Grade 3 Affirmed Handicap here on June 2. Java’s War won the Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland in April but was 13th of 19 in the Kentucky Derby, his most recent start.

Chief Havoc won an allowance race at 1 1/8 miles on May 30. Power Broker won the $150,000 Easy Goer Stakes at Belmont Park on June 8.

There will not be many more runners in the $500,000 Hollywood Gold Cup next Saturday.

The race is led by defending champion Game On Dude, who is expected to be opposed by the first four finishers of the Grade 2 Californian Stakes on June 1 – Clubhouse Ride, Liaison, Oilisblackgold, and Kettle Corn.

◗ Uno Dos Adios may start in the $100,000 Oceanside Stakes for 3-year-olds at a mile on turf at Del Mar on July 17 after winning an allowance race on turf on Thursday.
Owned by a partnership, Uno Dos Adios closed from last in a field of six to win by a half-length over Little Jerry. Ridden by Mike Smith, Uno Dos Adios ($9) ran 1 1/16 miles on turf in 1:41.50. He has won 2 of 5 starts. Thursday’s race was his first while wearing blinkers.
