Hollywood Park carryover at $526,158

Steve Andersen|Jun 01, 2006

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - The pick six went untouched for the second consecutive day at Hollywood Park on Thursday, creating a carryover of $526,158 for Friday's eight-race program.

Friday's card begins at 7:05 p.m. The first leg of the pick six is the third race, which is due off at 8:02 p.m., Pacific time.

Friday's pick six features two turf races, one of which is a sprint; and four races on the main track, three of which are sprints.

The third race, the first leg of the pick six, is an $8,000 claimer for fillies and mares at six furlongs. Striking Cobra, who drew the outside post, is the 3-1 favorite on the morning-line.

In the fourth race, Bev's Ex is scratched, allowing Sea Battle to draw into the 10-horse field from the also-eligible list. The race is for state-bred maidens at 5 1-2 furlongs on turf. Juan Ochoa replaces Martin Garcia on Toby Tickelbriches, while Aaron Gryder has the mount on Lidgettimate Heat.

There were no changes at scratch time in the fifth race, run at 1 1-16 miles for 3-year-old entered to be claimed for $22,500 to $25,000. Bullet Train is the 2-1 morning-line favorite in a field of six.

The sixth race is run at 5 1-2 furlongs for female maiden claimers. Yoda, Martha Endow, Can You Imagine, and Stormy Soul were withdrawn at scratch time, leaving a field of 12. Springstreetballet, who drew the rail, is the morning-line favorite from the rail.

The featured seventh race is an allowance race at 1 1-16 miles on turf. Mr. Wolverine, who finished second in the Crystal Water Handicap at Santa Anita in March, is the morning-line favorite, but has drawn the outside post in the eight-horse field. Haka Girl, a filly trained by Neil Drysdale, is another leading contender.

The final race is a sprint for maiden claimers at 5 1-2 furlongs. Sky Cash, Northern Caper, Social Skywalker and Awesome Silence have been withdrawn, leaving 12 entrants. Investingold is the 5-2 morning-line favorite.
