Hollywood Park business numbers up

Hollywood Park had increases in ontrack attendance and daily all-sources handle for its final live meeting, which ended Dec. 22, the track announced Thursday.

The track is scheduled to be demolished in 2014 for commercial and residential development.

The track released limited data Thursday. Average daily all-sources handle on live racing and simulcasts rose slightly, from $8,897,626 in 2012 to $8,935,076 in 2013. All-sources handle on Hollywood Park races rose 4 percent, from $6,604,176 in 2012 to $6,864,028 in 2013.

Hollywood Park had a 15 percent gain in ontrack attendance in 2013 compared to 2012. The track did not give attendance figures.

The official attendance on the final day was 13,283, although the track stopped charging admission following the fourth of 11 races after running out of programs.

While Hollywood Park is closed for live racing, simulcast wagering will continue in the adjacent card-club casino.
