Hollinger closes strong in Cup and Saucer

"I thought he ran very professionally today," said Roger Attfield, who trains Hollinger. "I was very impressed with his race, the day he did it. He just keeps getting better and better."

Stormy Lord set honest fractions over a firm turf course in the 1 1/16-mile event. Hollinger was stuck in traffic on the turn before rallying wide to prevail by two lengths, in a time of 1:42.53. Mobil Unit finished another 1 1/2 lengths back in third in the nine-horse field of Canadian-breds.

Hollinger ($5.40) earned $150,000 for the partnership of Bob Harvey and Al Wortzman.
