Hollendorfer eyeing Malibu as he mulls plans for King Jack

King Jack was back at his barn at Los Alamitos early Sunday afternoon following his 1 1/2-length victory in Saturday’s Grade 2, $300,000 Gallant Bob Stakes at Parx, for which he earned a gaudy 111 Beyer Speed Figure.
Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said he’s not sure where he will point the speedy 3-year-old next. King Jack, a son of Jimmy Creed owned by Michael Stinson, is now 3 for 4 in his career.
“We made the Gallant Bob a point race, we got to our point, we haven’t been beyond that,” Hollendorfer said Sunday afternoon. “There are a lot of interesting spots out there and I don’t think he’s limited to running [six] furlongs, though that distance seems to fit him quite well.”
Hollendorfer said another “point race” for King Jack could be the Grade 1 Malibu, a seven-furlong race for 3-year-olds typically run at Santa Anita on Dec. 26.
