Hocaba, the filly with the weird blinker and tons of speed, remained undefeated with an impressive 4 1/2-length victory over a field of 3-year-old fillies in Friday’s five-furlong feature that was moved from the turf to the main track. Trained by Efren Loza Jr., the Sky Mesa filly races with a large and oddly shaped blinker on the right side, but it doesn’t seem to affect her way of travelling. She wired a solid maiden field in her debut after being in training five months prior to that start, then broke on top again Friday and led throughout the optional-claiming sprint while covering the distance in a very good 58.66 seconds.
