Two-time Horse of the Year, perennial leading sire, and emerging sire of sires Curlin will stand for an advertised fee of $225,000 in 2025 at Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm in Kentucky, the farm announced Monday as roster and fee announcements begin to trickle in. Curlin’s fee should rank him as one of the highest-priced stallions in North America. He stood for a fee of $250,000 in 2024, which matched him with five-time reigning leading sire Into Mischief at Spendthrift Farm and young phenom Gun Runner at Three Chimneys Farm as the top fees in the nation; Gun Runner’s fee was later moved to private. The 2025 fees for Into Mischief and Gun Runner have not yet been announced. As Into Mischief is again atop the leading sires list this season, and recently broke his own single-season earnings record with nearly a quarter of the season remaining, his fee is not likely to drop. Curlin, Into Mischief, and Gun Runner finished as the top three sires by average price, in that order, at last month’s Keeneland September yearling sale, indicating their commercial popularity should continue to support their fees. :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! Good Magic has sired classic winners from each of his first two crops, with 2023 Kentucky Derby winner Mage followed by 2024 Belmont Stakes winner Dornoch. The other major Kentucky farm to release its fees as of Monday morning is WinStar Farm, with that roster led by Constitution, standing for an unchanged $110,000 to rank among the nation’s six-figure sires. Constitution is currently fifth on the nation’s general sires list, and third on the turf sires list. He is the sire of standout freshman sire Tiz the Law. “We are excited for the 2025 breeding season and the strong stallion roster we are presenting to breeders,” said Elliott Walden, president, CEO, and racing manager for WinStar, said in a release. “Constitution has taken another step forward in 2024 and solidified himself as an elite sire both on the racetrack and in the sales ring.” :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
