John and Susan Moore have privately sold their Grade 1 winner Zaftig, now retired, to John Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Farm.\nThe transaction, completed Tuesday, will send the 3-year-old Gone West filly to Hill 'n' Dale's broodmare band.\nZaftig won the Grade 1 Acorn Stakes as well as the Grade 3 Nassau County Stakes in 2008. She also finished third in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.\nZaftig is out of the Grade 1 winner Zoftig, by Cozzene. She is the first Grade 1 winner for her dam and won half her six starts for earnings of $408,700.\n"We sold some extraordinary mares in November, not the least of which was Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour," Sikura said in announcing the purchase. "We have been looking for the opportunity to replenish our broodmare band with exactly the caliber of mare that Zaftig represents. Her world-class pedigree indicates she has the ability of throwing any caliber of runner on dirt or turf going short or long. We couldn't be happier with her addition to our program."\n* Adena Springs has relocated the 10-year-old A. P. Indy stallion Indy King from Adena Springs South in Florida to Joyce Baker's Indiana Stallion Station in Anderson, Ind. Indy King, a son of champion Queena, will stand for $1,000. He is the sire of 2008 stakes winner Indy Joe.
