Channing Hill will be riding in Nebraska this weekend as the Columbus, Neb., native shifts his tack from the New York circuit to Southern California. After riding Wednesday's card in New York, Hill was scheduled to fly to Nebraska. He will accept rides at Fonner Park this weekend and will be the special guest on track announcer Steve Anderson's racing preview show Saturday at 1 p.m. Hill began his riding career at Columbus in 2005, moved to Prairie Meadows later that summer, and then went on to New York. He was second in the Eclipse Award balloting for apprentice jockey of 2005. * Lady Countdown, trained by Charles Smith, heads a list of 10 3-year-old fillies nominated to Saturday's $10,000-added Pepsi Stakes going six furlongs. Smith won the Bold Accent stakes here on opening weekend with the multiple stakes winner Miss Missile. Like Miss Missile, Lady Countdown is a stakes winner in Canada, having won the Debutante Stakes last August at Assiniboia Downs.
