Highhopesemilyluck wins Fantasia

BOSSIER CITY, La. - Highhopesemilyluck continued her rapid rise to stardom Sunday afternoon, winning the $42,800 Fantasia Stakes by a length over Taylor's Queen. The winner has now reeled off four straight victories, her last two coming in stakes company, since finishing second in her debut at Fair Grounds on March 16. Her previous victory came at the expense of older rivals in the Tellike Handicap at Evangeline Downs on June 1.

Owned by Jeannie Carrere and trained by Sam Breaux, Highhopesemilyluck once again turned in a strong rally on the outside under regular rider Ricky Faul and wore down second choice Taylor's Queen who had disposed of the other speed turning for home. The final time for the six furlong affair for Louisiana-bred 3-year-old fillies was 1:10.48 over a fast track.
