High On Gin lights up tote board in My Trusty Cat

Longshot High On Gin won the second stakes race of her young career Friday night, when she pulled away by 5 1/4 lengths in the $100,000 My Trusty Cat. Trixie Racer finished second in the one-mile race for 2-year-old fillies, while it was another length and a half back in third to 4-5 favorite Gone Glimmering.
The My Trusty Cat was run on a sloppy, sealed track.
High On Gin ($43) settled off the pace as Thirsty My Friend and Majestic Edge went at it through an opening quarter in 22.93 seconds and a half-mile in 47.40. High On Gin advanced three wide on the final turn, then separated herself from her rivals through the stretch. She covered the distance in 1:42.73.
Devin Magnon was aboard High On Gin for trainer Carl Deville.
High On Gin won her first stakes, the $60,000 Happy Ticket, on turf in September at Louisiana Downs. She won on dirt in the My Trusty Cat. Overall, the daughter of Fury Kapcori has won 3 of 4 starts for earnings of $110,244. She races for Jerry Caroom.
