Hi Happy wins 2018 Pan American Stakes
Barbara D. Livingston Hi Happy returned $6.80 with his victory in the Pan American Stakes at Gulfstream on Saturday.

ELMONT, N.Y. – Hi Happy, the sharp winner of the Grade 2 Pan American at Gulfstream Park on March 31, drew post 7 in a field of 10 for Saturday’s Grade 1, $700,000 Man o’ War Stakes at 1 3/8 miles on turf.

Hi Happy will face a familiar rival in One Go All Go, whom Hi Happy defeated by 2 3/4 lengths in the Pan Am. One Go All Go returned to win the Grade 2 Elkhorn at Keeneland. One Go All Go drew post 9 and will have regular rider Chris Landeros up.

Others entered in the Man o’ War were Postulation, Sadler’s Joy, Scholar Athlete, Catcho En Die, Wake Forest, Call Provision, Bigger Picture, and Money Multiplier.

In other stakes on Saturday:

◗ The German-bred A Raving Beauty and the Canadian-bred Inflexibility form a Chad Brown uncoupled entry in the Grade 3, $200,000 Beaugay Stakes for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles on turf.

◗ Chalon, who came off a six-month layoff to win the Primonetta Stakes at Laurel, heads a field of six entered in the Grade 3, $200,000 Vagrancy Handicap. The field also includes Sounds Delicious, Kirby’s Penny, Holiday Disguise, Ascertain, and Swing and Sway.

◗ Skyler’s Scramjet and Great Stuff, first and third in the Grade 3 Tom Fool, head a field of six entered in the $150,000 Runhappy Stakes (formerly the Diablo) at six furlongs. Westwood, King Kranz, Always Sunshine, and Green Gratto complete the lineup.
