Hey Nay Nay possible for Cecile B. DeMille

Hey Nay Nay, the John Sadler-trained colt who finished 10th in the BC Juvenile Turf, will be nominated to the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes on Nov. 30 at Del Mar.

“He came out really good, he’s a possible to go back in the” DeMille, Sadler said.

From a pace perspective, Hey Nay Nay did not have a good trip in the Juvenile Turf. He got caught up in a duel with Outfielder, who finished last. Hey Nay Nay hung tough to near midstretch before he faltered.

“He didn’t really get to show his best,” Sadler said.

The BC Juvenile Turf was Hey Nay Nay’s first loss in four starts. He won a maiden turf sprint at Santa Anita, the $98,000 Tryo Stakes at Monmouth Park, and Grade 3 Del Mar Juvenile Turf in summer.

Sadler plans to run a pair of 2-year-olds in one-mile California-bred stakes next month at Los Alamitos. Stakes-placed Liberation goes in the $100,000 Soviet Problem Stakes for fillies on Dec. 7; stakes-placed colt Can’t Help Myself goes in the $100,000 King Glorious Stakes on Dec. 14. The Sadler-trained filly Revera was to be entered Sunday at Del Mar in the $100,000 Desi Arnaz Stakes.
