Coady Photography He's Another Who earned a career-high 70 Beyer Speed Figure for his Four Rivers win.

He’s Another Who and Go for a Stroll will get distance tests Saturday, when the 3-year-olds stretch out to two turns for the first time in the $85,000 Red Hedemen Mile at Sunland Park. The race is one of two New Mexico-bred stakes on the card. The other is the $85,000 Mt. Cristo Rey Handicap.

The Red Hedemen drew seven, while the Mt. Cristo, for 3-year-olds and up at 4 1/2 furlongs, will go with 10. The top contenders in the Mt. Cristo include D E Lover, the winner of the $170,000 New Mexico Cup Sprint at Zia; Not My Note, who won the $85,000 Johnie L. Jamison at Sunland; and Weappear, who last summer was second in an 870-yard stakes for Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses at Ruidoso.

He’s Another Who won the $85,000 Four Rivers, a six-furlong race at Sunland, over Go for a Stroll last out. Their rivals Saturday include Dom Strait, who is stakes-placed at two turns, having run second in the $140,000 Eddy County in November at Zia before winning his maiden at two turns at Sunland.

KEY CONTENDERS

He’s Another Who, by Quinton’s Gold
Last 3 Beyers: 70-67-59

◗ He earned this field’s best Beyer Speed Figure, a 70, when he closed from last in the slop in the Four Rivers on Jan. 1. He won by 1 1/4 lengths and gave retired jockey Casey Lambert his first stakes win as a trainer in a new career launched in 2016.

◗ He’s Another Who gets pedigree support for the two-turn test from his dam, Mysterious Bandit, who was a winner at two turns. He’s Another Who’s sire, Quinton’s Gold, was a stakes-winning sprinter.

◗ Justin Shepherd has the mount from post 7 for Champion Racing Stable.

Go for a Stroll, by Attila’s Storm
Beyers: 66-63

◗ He used the same late-running tactics as He’s Another Who in the Four Rivers, closing for second. The start was his first against winners, following a maiden special weight score at Zia.

◗ Go for a Stroll gets pedigree support for the two turns from his dam, the Bernardini mare Garter. She has produced a multiple two-turn winner in Shotgun Wedding.

◗ Tracy Hebert has the mount from the rail for R.D. Hubbard and trainer Todd Fincher.
