Claimed out of win for $30,000 by the powerhouse Amoss-Moss tandem, and he was a bargain. Was off form last time in slop but solid on grass, and he can take a class hike and win again – hopefully at some kind of price.
ALLAMERICAN MUSIC
Trainer: Al Stall
Last race: Jan. 10, 6th
Finish: 6th by 2 1/4
Beyer: 65
Second-time starter 3-year-old stretching from turf sprint to turf route had decent position going into the first turn but wrangled back to get buried behind horses and had no luck thereafter; totally blocked at the top of the stretch and wheeled about seven paths outside for room, which came way too late. No star but should place higher next time.
HAZARDS OF LOVE
Trainer: Tom Amoss
Last race: Jan. 12, 8th
Finish: 3rd by 4 1/2
Beyer: 91
Appeared full of run while trying to sneak through along the fence in the homestretch and totally sawed off; did well to get third. Problem is trouble was glaring and popular connections, so let the price be your guide when he returns.
