Hermano T K stretches in feature
Hermano T K will get some added real estate to work with Wednesday night, when he moves to seven furlongs for the featured eighth race at Evangeline Downs.
He goes in a first-level allowance for 3-year-olds and up bred in Louisiana.
Hermano T K exits a first-level allowance at Fair Grounds in which he closed from next-to-last for second March 7. The race came at 5 1/2 furlongs, and the added ground he picks up Wednesday should be the right fit, according to trainer Scott Gelner.
“He’s always seemed like a horse that wanted to go further, but was never was a two-turn horse,” he said. “He’s coming into the race good. I think it’s a perfect spot for him.”
Hermano T K, like most of his rivals, is making his first start off a layoff as the start of Evangeline meet was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“He’s been training good,” Gelner said. “He’s got a couple of works coming in. I think he’ll be fine there.”
Justin Shepherd has the mount from post 7.
