VANCOUVER, British Columbia – As expected, Here’s Hannah was a decisive winner of the $50,000 Monashee Handicap at Hastings on Saturday. She paid $2.50 as the overwhelming favorite in the 1 1/16-mile race for fillies and mares.
With Richard Hamel aboard, she broke alertly and was pestered by Good Luck to You while she posted interior fractions of 24.04 and 47.15 seconds. Here’s Hannah started to assert her authority turning for home, and drew off to win by four lengths while being ridden out. Good Luck to You held on well to finish 2 1/4 lengths clear of Yukon Belle.
The final time was 1:44.78.
Bred in British Columbia by her owner, B C Stables, the 4-year-old daughter of Numaany was notching her 10th win from 11 starts.
