Here Tiger wins Southern Beau

Bossier City, La. - As expected, national training leader Steve Asmussen swept the first two positions in Sunday's Southern Beau Stakes at Harrah's Louisiana Downs. Here Tiger pulled away from entrymate Willtosucceed down the stretch after they had dueled for much of the way to prevail by three and a half lengths. First time starter Carroll's Delight ran well to finish third, another three and three quarters lengths further back followed by Desert Wheat. The time for the five furlongs was 1:05.88 over a fast track.

Here Tiger ($2.60) is owned by Heiligbrodt Racing Stable and won for the second time in three starts. Sunday's winner's share of $30,000 increased the son of Tiger Ridge's career bankroll to just under $50,000.

"We were a little worried about the one hole," said winning rider Carlos Gonzalez. "But he broke sharp last time and again today and the longer we stayed clean the better off we were. When I asked for some more run down the lane, he gave it to me."
