Heironimus, steward, dies
Elwood D. Heironimus, a longtime racing secretary and then steward at the Charles Town Races, died Oct. 21 at his home in Charles Town, W.Va. He was 83.
Heironimus, a World War II veteran, worked in the racing offices at the Charles Town and Shenandoah Downs tracks. He was appointed steward in the mid-1980's and retired as a steward in 1996.
