Heidi's In Charge wins third straight in Arizona Breeders' Futurity

Heidi’s In Charge won her third consecutive race, and second stakes, in Saturday’s $48,000 Arizona Breeders’ Futurity for 2-year-old statebred fillies at Turf Paradise in Phoenix.

Ridden by Israel Hernandez, Heidi’s In Charge ($2.80) overcame a bobble at the start to take the lead in early stretch. She won by two lengths over 25-1 Sugar Pine Point in a field of six. Heidi’s In Charge ran six furlongs in 1:12.34.

By Ez Dreamer, Heidi’s In Charge has won 3 of 9 starts and earned $98,349. Owned by Mark Breen, Heidi’s In Charge won an optional maiden claimer at Turf Paradise on Oct. 18, and the Arizona Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Sales Stakes on Nov. 1. Heidi’s In Charge was purchased for $33,000 as a yearling in Arizona.

There were four stakes on the eight-race program.

In the $48,000 colts and gelding division of the Arizona Breeders’ Futurity, Coolidge ($6.40) closed from third in a field of eight to win by a half-length over 8-5 favorite Two the Punch. Coolidge, a gelding by El Mirage, was ridden by Jorge Bourdieu.

Owned by Barry Arnason and trainer Don Schnell, Coolidge ran six furlongs in 1:11.02. The gelding won the Manzano Stakes at The Downs at Albuquerque in September and has won 3 of 5 starts and earned $69,422.

Winning Vision won her fourth consecutive race in the $25,000 Cactus Flower Stakes for fillies and mares at 6 1/2 furlongs. The race was restricted to Arizona-breds offered at any ATBA fall sale.

Winning Vision ($2.40) led throughout the Cactus Flower Stakes, winning by three lengths over 40-1 Lazy Daisy May in 1:17.39. Trained by Molly Pearson, Winning Vision was ridden by Scott Stevens. The 4-year-old filly, by Pollard’s Vision, races for C.J. Racing and won the Phoenix Stakes at Turf Paradise on Nov. 15.

Winning Vision has won 7 of 13 starts and $168,119.

Rocked Twice, a 4-year-old gelding by Rocky Bar, won his first stakes in the $25,000 Cactus Wren Stakes at 6 1/2 furlongs. The race was restricted to Arizona-breds offered at any ATBA fall sale.

Ridden by Justin Shepherd, Rocked Twice ($10.60) led throughout to win by 3 1/2 lengths over 4-5 favorite Jamaican Memories. Rocked Twice was timed in 1:15.61, and won for the fifth time in his 17-race career. He races for Rick Reynolds and trainer Dru Hall.
