Heavenhasmynikki, Pacific Gale could see rematch in Bed o' Roses

ELMONT, N.Y. – Heavenhasmynikki, head winner of Saturday’s Grade 3 Vagrancy, was scheduled to return to Keeneland to train as her connections decide where to run her next. That next start will most likely come at Belmont Park in either the Grade 3 Bed o’ Roses Invitational going seven furlongs on June 7 or the Grade 1, $700,000 Ogden Phipps going 1 1/16 miles on June 8.
The distance and competition of the Bed o’ Roses may make more sense. In the Phipps, Heavenhasmynikki would have to face Midnight Bisou, 3 for 3 this year including a victory over Heavenhasmynikki in the Houston Ladies Classic, and Come Dancing, who is coming off dominant victories in the Grade 3 Distaff at Aqueduct and Grade 2 Ruffian here.
“We’re probably leaning toward the seven-eighths,” owner Ron Paolucci said. “I know she can get a mile and a sixteenth, but can she get it against those types of fillies?”
Heavenhasmynikki earned a career-best 95 Beyer Speed Figure for the victory. Runner-up Pacific Gale would most likely return in the Bed o’ Roses.
