Ohio-bred 2-year-old fillies take center stage Sunday at Belterra Park in the $50,000 Tah Dah Stakes. A field of eight was drawn for the six-furlong event, the first stakes for statebreds at that distance at Belterra Park this season. Three fillies – Pico Ballado, Humoresque, and Pyrite Blue Magna – are coming into the Tah Dah off maiden wins. Tah Dah Stakes, Race 7 KEY CONTENDERS Heat Transfer (Last 3 Beyers: 38-69-61) ◗ Comes into the Tah Dah off a win in the Miss Ohio at ThistleDown on July 26. She won her maiden race at Arlington Park on June 19 while earning a Beyer Speed Figure of 69, the highest in the field by 16 points. That race was at five furlongs, and she has yet to try six furlongs. ◗ Trained by Larry Rivelli, she was a $190,000 purchase in Ocala, Fla., in March. She will be ridden by Jareth Loveberry. That trainer/jockey combo has won at 27 percent over the past two years. Justalittlesmoke (Last 3 Beyers: 53-35-42) ◗ Won the Cleveland Kindergarten at ThistleDown against males in her last outing while earning a 53 Beyer, the second-highest in the field. She won by six lengths in the 11-horse field. ◗ Finished third, beaten only a length, in the Miss Ohio. Savings and Roan (Last 2 Beyers: 35-35) ◗ Won at first asking July 12 locally in a statebred maiden race. Finished a close-up fourth in the Miss Ohio while gaining late for trainer Mike Maker.
