Heart Throbbin ($10.60) held off slight favorite Place Your Bet by a half-length for the first stakes victory of his career in the $63,200 Dancing Count for 3-year-olds.

Ridden by Ryan Fogelsonger for trainer King Leatherbury, Heart Throbbin sat off a contested pace battle between longshots Heezafre-

quentflyer and Mister Jon, gained command in midstretch, and had enough to hold off Place Your Bet at the wire.

Place Your Bet, the 3-2 favorite, was four lengths clear of the 9-5 second choice Crafty Bear, the last horse entered by Hall of Fame trainer Bud Delp before his death on Friday.

The time for the 5 1/2 furlongs over a muddy track was 1:06.21.

The best previous race by Heart Throbbin, claimed by Leatherbury for $40,000 on behalf of One and Won Stable in September, came when he finished second at 30-1 behind Triple Crown prospect Hard Spun in an overnight stakes at Delaware Park.
