Heart attack felled Young

Glenye Cain Oakford|Jan 14, 2004

William T. Young, owner of Overbrook Farm and the leading stallion Storm Cat, apparently died of a heart attack while attending a dinner at Gulfstream Golf Club in Delray Beach, Fla. He was 85.

The Lexington Herald-Leader, quoting Young's son William T. Young Jr., reported Wednesday that Young had just introduced a friend, ABC-TV sportscaster Jim McKay, to speak at the dinner and was returning to his seat when he collapsed. He never regained consciousness, although emergency medical personnel tried to resuscitate him at the scene.

Meanwhile, the family announced that there would be no visitation for Young and that his burial would be private. The family also requested that there be no flowers or charitable contributions.
