Heart Ashley retired, will be sold at Keeneland November

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Zayat Stables announced Tuesday that its Grade 3 winner Heart Ashley has retired from racing and will go through the auction ring at the 2010 Keeneland November sale.

Zayat Stables owner Ahmed Zayat will consign the 4-year-old Lion Heart filly through the Eaton Sales agency.

Heart Ashley last ran on May 29, when she won Philadelphia Park’s My Juliet Stakes. That was her third career stakes win, coming after her victories in the Grade 3 Cicada and Miss Preakness Stakes last season. She retires with earnings of $395,896 from six wins in 10 lifetime starts. Steve Asmussen trained Heart Ashley.

Bred by Gaines-Gentry Thoroughbreds, Heart Ashley brought $320,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling sale in 2007. She is out of the Grade 2-placed Beau Genius mare Pretty ’n Smart.
