Hear My Prayer in no rush to run back after allowance win

Hear My Prayer won her California debut in an allowance race for fillies and mares at Del Mar on Thursday, her first start in more than six months. It may be more than two months before Hear My Prayer races again.
Friday, trainer Vladimir Cerin said Hear My Prayer may run next in the Grade 3 Sen. Ken Maddy Stakes, a $200,000 race for fillies and mares at five furlongs at Del Mar on Nov. 5.
“There’s no place else to run,” he said. “We know she likes the track.”

Ridden by Juan Hernandez, Hear My Prayer on Thursday stalked pacesetter and 6-5 favorite Bulletproof One to the final furlong of the five-furlong turf race before prevailing by a half-length over that rival, a three-time stakes winner. She paid $7 to win.
“I think it was a pretty good performance,” Cerin said. “It was a salty field for an allowance. Those are going to come up tough.”
Owned by David and Holly Wilson, Hear My Prayer, a 4-year-old filly by the Yes It’s True stallion The Big Beast, has won 5 of 10 starts and earned $194,975. Hear My Prayer won a stakes on turf at Gulfstream Park in January when trained by David Fisher.
